Today’s fantastic question is: “I am a mom of two young children. When they wake up in the morning, they immediately go from 0 to 100 mph while my husband and I are simply trying to wake up. How can I make things more calm in the morning?”
So here’s my rule of thumb – when things feel out of control, the best thing to do is to make a plan. You and your husband can sit down and come up with a structure or plan for the morning when your children wake up. When kids are ramped up, it’s often because they don’t know what’s expected of them. They truly feel more calm when they know what the order of the morning and day look like. A great idea I love is to write a family schedule for the day up on the wall that breaks down the day into sections. Come up with a useable, realistic one that works for your family and it’s needs. There is no perfect schedule and keep in mind that you can always make adjustments as needed to make it work for you. I hope this helps!
