It’s time for Quick Tip Tuesday! Now, to many of you seasoned moms and dads out there, this tip might seem a bit like old news. However, as I learned from my cousin when I shared it with her, you can never assume a useful trick will be wasted!
If you have a little one in the crib or in a bed, one of the most frustrating and profanity inducing things that often happens in the middle of the night is when your precious peanut has an accident. Let’s just say I was not all peaches and cream at 3am when that would happen in our house. You’ve got to get up, strip the sheets, change your child, find (fingers crossed) clean sheets, jammies, throw linens in the wash….well, you get the idea. So the trick is, layer the mattress with several sets of sheets! First, a mattress pad (obviously waterproof), then a fitted sheet, followed by another mattress pad and fitted sheet. The more layers you can pile on, the better it gets – kind of like lasagna:0). In the wee hours of the morning, when you are about to tear your hair out, just strip the bed of one layer of the sheet/pad combo, and you have a fresh one underneath ready for some sleeping action! It sounds so simple, but it’s absolutely genius to a sleep deprived new (or not so new) parent who can’t even remember to brush her teeth.
When I first heard of this tip I kept for joy and believe me, it’s worth the investment! Stay strong moms and dads, and remember that you are a ROCK STAR!!!
