I caught a glimpse of this poster hanging outside the band room of my son’s middle school the other day. In light of my Instagram post, I decided to share it, as I feel that this is an extremely useful tool for children (and parents) to use before they post anything online. The acronym helps to slow down impulsive tendencies all kids can demonstrate when it comes it social media. I’d even call it a barometer for self-evaluation. More importantly, THINK can be used as a tool in our daily face to face exchanges with others. I’m printing a copy for use in my own home and as a catalyst for conversation. Go through the statements with them and ask them to tell you what each question means to them. Then share what it means for you and how each relates to the values in your family. Don’t stop talking about the right ways to use social media!
